A Fukuokan’s favorite, a plate of spotted mackerel.

Come here to taste fresh fish at a reasonable price. Local people frequently come to this casual fish restaurant established 41 years ago. More than 20 kinds of plates are served using seasonal fish like mirin-seasoned sablefish, boiled yellowtail with salt, and butter-flavored fresh grilled salmon. Popular among these is the plate meal of spotted mackerel (1,300 yen) which uses chub mackerel, whose taste starts becoming richer at the beginning of Fall. It is perfection with Masafuku’s original sesame sauce!

Plenty of Masafuku’s original sesame sauce using both ground sesame and creamy sesame paste. Mackerel in the Fall and Winter, which is the best season, are especially fatty and rich (may not always be available, depending on market conditions). The owner has an eye for fish and hops between several seafood shops to buy the best, which is the reason you can taste such good quality fish.

Just after opening, there is a line comprising both office workers and tourists in front of the restaurant. It is located at the first basement floor of a fashion department store Tenjin Core, which is at the center of the Tenjin area, a 5 minute walk from the Tenjin subway station on the Kuko line. The Tenjin underground shopping mall connects to the buildings aboveground so no umbrella needed, even if it rains.
