This tavern was established in 1950 in Bunka Yokocho and maintains the atmosphere of the nostalgic Showa era. They serve up to four glasses of sake for a customer, because the proprietress wishes for the customers to appreciate their varied tastes. Four types of sake, including a local high-quality sake “Urakasumi”, are always available and each glass is served with a small dish of appetizer. Take a seat at a cozy counter made of solid cedar timber and enjoy the excellent selection of sake and appetizers.

Appetizers served with sake. The first glass comes with simmered dish and fermented vegetable pickles, the second with tasty chilled tofu, the third with sashimi, and the fourth with oden with a flavorful broth (various ingredients cut in large pieces and simmered in soup). You will be warmed thoroughly by the time you leave.

An artistic U-shaped counter in the tavern is impressive. This building was formerly used for grain storage and has been renovated by a shrine carpenter. No background music is played so the customers can enjoy conversations with the proprietress.

A narrow approach leads to the entrance. The quiet and atmospheric mood of this noted hidden tavern attracts many sake lovers.
