A popular new Okinawan dessert which combines tradition and innovation.

A specialty store serving sata andagi (an Okinawan doughnut), the former “Kame Tempra” in Naha city has been relocated and renewed in 2015. Its second owner now makes modern style sata andagi. While maintaining its original flavor of dough using pumpkin paste, the owner has added new toppings such as fresh cream, toasted soybean powder, and ice cream. You can enjoy the classic flavor in a delightful snack. Freshly fried all the time, it has a nice crispy texture.

Among all the menu items, the one particularly specific to Okinawa is “purple sweet potato and cream” (230 yen). Steamed purple potatoes with fresh cream match well with sata andagi.

It is in Umikaji Terrace, located 15-minutes away by car from Naha Airport. You can enjoy your meal while admiring the ocean view from open-air terrace seats.
