Kanbukuro

Kurumimochi (Single 360 yen, Double 720 yen) are rice cakes coated with a unique and secret smooth green bean jam. There is an anecdote that Taiko Hideyoshi Toyotomi was impressed by the taste and gave the restaurant the name Kanbukuro. Kurumimochi is also suitable as a souvenir from Sakai. A popular option is to buy it in a special pot.

The shop opened with the name Izumiya at the end of the Kamakura period (1329). After that, the name was changed to Kanbukuro when Hideyoshi Toyotomi built Osaka Castle in the Azuchi-Momoyama period.
