Fully enjoy a genuine afternoon tea prepared by staff trained in England in the historic building.

Kitahama Retro

A tea salon in Kitahama, where there are many historic buildings. The large golden tea pot at the entrance is how to find it. The Western-style brick building was built in a U.K. style in 1912. When you open the door, there is a shop where original tea blends, British-style tableware, and sundry goods are displayed, and the second floor is the cafe which is filled with the atmosphere of the U.K. All elements are British-style including the interior’s design which sticks to antique items and Wedgwood tea service sets. Spend an extraordinary time while tasting the afternoon tea set just like those served in its original British setting.

Afternoon tea set (2,250 yen) The 3-layer trays of scones baked in the restaurant, cakes, and sandwiches are impressive.

Opened in a building which was designated as a national cultural property in 1988. There is a golden tea pot hung at the entrance.

Not only the tables and chairs are antiques in this restaurant, the paintings on the walls are antique pieces as well. Everything is carefully selected by the owner.

There is a view of a rose garden over the river through the windows, which adds to the elegant feeling.
