松島を代表する特産品を

焼きたての熱々で堪能できる老舗。

松島蒲鉾本舗 総本店

Sasakamaboko, known as one of Matsushima’s specialties. A long-established store where you can experience making it by hand. Place it on the grill on the table, and slowly grill it until both sides are beautifully browned. It takes about 6 minutes. The texture is crispy outside, and very soft inside. The taste of freshly ground fish spreads in your mouth.

Sasakamaboko-making experience (200 yen/ piece). By grilling both sides enough, it becomes more savory.

An item as popular as Sasakamaboko is Muu (200 yen). The kamaboko (processed fish paste) uses tofu as its base ingredient, and it has a gentle flavor with the soy bean’s natural taste. A piece is filling with its weight of 40 grams.

You can also get the Sasakamaboko and Muu introduced here as take out to bring back home. Takekama, ground cod wrapped around a green bamboo stick, and Doraboko, whipped cheese cream sandwiched between a paste made of ground fish and egg, are also popular menu items.
