Architecture symbolic of contemporary art. The avant-garde building catches people’s eyes.

National Museum of Art, Osaka

This art museum opened for collecting, storing, and exhibiting pieces of artwork of contemporary art from Japan and overseas, and moved to the current location in Nakanoshima in 2004. It has become one of the top art museums which stores 7000 or more pieces of artwork. The facade designed by César Pelli, an architect from Argentina, is also a must-see. It is an impressive design expressing both the life force of bamboo and the development of contemporary art, and it might just steal your breath away.

César Pelli is the architect who also designed Abeno Harukas. It is a must-visit public zone which is designed to create interactions between people and art.
