A representative building among Osaka retro buildings which also has a role of spreading art and culture.

Osaka City Central Public Hall

A landmark located in the center of Nakanoshima, where the Dojima River flows on the north, and Tosabori River is on the south. A building completed in 1918, which was designated as a national important cultural property later, has a beautiful Neo-Renaissance style which stand out against the green of the surrounding trees. Even a century after its construction, it still has a role as a place to spread culture and art in Osaka such as holding operas and concerts by top artists from around the world.

An entrance where natural light comes in. You can feel modernity from the lighting fixtures, doors, and other features. They are still so modern that you won’t believe it was built 100 years ago.

In the building is the restaurant & bar Nakanoshima Social Eat Awake, whose interior is designed by the British designer group Tom Dixon. You can enjoy excellent food and drink in an original space where retro and modern designs are fused.

A typical Osaka location surrounded by greenery and water. The magnificent atmosphere of the Public Hall is powerful even when we view it from a distance.
