鮨 しらはた

In Shiogama, which is said to be a holy land for sushi lovers, this restaurant is run by Mr. Kunitomo Shirahata, who is a sushi artisan working for more than 50 years at his craft. His ingredients are only seafood caught on the Sanriku coast and areas around it: sea squirt produced in Onagawa, sea urchins from Shichigahama, etc. Carefully selected bottles of sake are also only from breweries in Shiogama. The owner who loves this area so much tells us about the tastes that you can enjoy only in Shiogama.

Omakase (4,200 yen), a tasting menu of 13 pieces of sushi. Fresh seasonal pieces of sushi are served on one plate.

Mr. Kunitomo Shirahata, the owner. He still stands behind the counter to provide carefully selected sushi for the guests. He has a gentle manner, and entertains guests with lilting conversation while making sushi.
