A long-established brewery, which sincerely makes graceful sake.

Urakasumi Sake Gallery

Established in 1724, it became a brewery of sacred sake for offerings to the Shiogama Shrine in the 1800s. Polished rice is fermented with yeast cultured in-house at a low temperature, creating graceful sake with a harmonious taste and aroma. You can join a guided tour twice a day, in which they guide guests through the sake cellar and explain its history. You can taste the sake of the month if you buy a sake cup (300 yen) at the sake gallery.

Junmai ginjo (sake with no added alcohol) Urakasumi Zen (720ml 2,160 yen) is a representative brand of Urakasumi. Moderate flavor and a soft taste are well balanced.
