A trip on foot through back street culture in Fukuoka

On the off-street small alleys of Fukuoka there are unique shops with a great feeling of “now”.
With more people moving to Fukuoka, its unique culture has been getting hotter with the rest of Japan.
Let’s go on an overnight trip to experience the local atmosphere.

A shop which uses its whole space to showcase the wild beauty of orchids.

A specialty shop for native orchid species that have particularly wild looks. There are about 300 kinds of epiphytic orchids in the shop, displayed using not only pots but also a sneaker, pieces of wood, and even a skateboard. Such novel displays and the graffiti tags on chairs and walls drawn by the owner Yoichiro Uchida creates a perfect vibe for browsing in the space, and seizes passersby with curiosity.
