Come sample the seafood from the Sanriku Coast
in Matsushima!

Seafood caught in the abundant Matsushima Bay is must-eat if you visit Matsushima. The blessings from the seas of Sanriku, including the famous oysters of the area, congers, sea urchins, red caviar, and more are not only fresh, but also uniquely cooked and arranged in ways which you can taste only in this area. Don’t miss the fresh and original local gourmet seafood!

Nigiri (sushi shaped by hand) of raw conger is a rare item, which is known only by a small number of people.

The shop owner, who had been trained at a popular sushi restaurant, returned his home Matsushima loaded with honors to open this restaurant in 2003. Notable among the many ingredients, nigiri of raw conger (400 yen/ piece), served since the restaurant first opened, is popular, but known to few people because of its rareness. Fresh congers from the Sanriku area are cut carefully to fully draw out the springy texture and the light taste. Served after a sprinkling of powdery Yukishio salt.

Wonderful marriage of oysters and a hamburger.

The market where fresh seafood is gathered from the Sanriku Coast provides Matsushima oyster burger as an original menu item. A cream croquette with ground oyster meat, special sauce, and lettuce are sandwiched between buns baked with rice flour. The voluminous size of about 7 cm thick also stimulates our appetite.
