Aoi Nishimura

An editor of the monthly “Meets Regional”, the thickest local information magazine which features fashion, culture, restaurants in towns in the Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe regions. The only sweet tooth in the editor division (whose members tend to be “booze-hounds”).

Where is your favorite spot to stop by after work and so forth?

I often go to “BACCAIUN” with my colleague because we can eat delicious food, even late at night, and we can also use it as a bar. I like to drink coffee after drinking alcohol, so I like this restaurant also because it serves coffee!

What is your “soul food” that evokes good memories for you?

“Mashika’s curry” is a restaurant with spicy curry, which has become popular and part of a recent trend of that kind of restaurant in Osaka. Since I often miss lunch, it helps that they serve curry until around 3 pm

What is a “must-see” spot for you in Osaka?

I pretend to be a fashionable person at the river side cafe “BROOKLYN ROASTING COMPANY Kitahama branch”. The café is getting more popular and they’ve been opening new branches recently.

How did you feel when you used the Canon EOS M10 to take these pictures?

The operation screen is easily understood even by a child, which is good for a total novice like me! It is light and compact, and can be carried daily. I felt like taking up photography as a hobby.
