Where is your favorite spot to stop by after work and so forth?

You can taste cuisine which combines traditional Okinawan recipes with a “modern” essence at “Sakae Ryoriten”. It uses select tableware, and all the food is also quite enjoyable for the eyes. It receives high praise from satisfied guests, including my friends from outside Okinawa.

What is a “soul food” of Okinawa that you have good memories of?

“Chicken inari” of Maruichi Shokuhin is flavored boiled rice wrapped in fried bean curd. Its sour taste is my favorite, pairing well with the appetizing garlic flavored fried chicken. It is also served at traditional events in Okinawa.

Which is your favorite secret beach?

“Tomaihama” in Tsuken Island, close to the main island of Okinawa, is attractive with its clear blue sea and beautiful beach. You can go to some islands by car, but you get the pleasant feeling of taking a small trip with the 20-minute ride on a ferry.
